Today is the day that the Earth stood still for me!!!! Well for a moment anyway...well quite a few moments actually, during the first session of our Digital Intensive PD with the amazing team from Manaiakalani!
The use of digital technology in education has become a crucial part of teaching and learning. With the ever increasing teacher workload, it has been amazing to learn about new ways to work smarter! I have learned things about Google docs today that I have not been aware of and it excites me to think that they can become part of the tools I use as a teacher in the classroom. not only that, but I can share the knowledge with the students! I never used the drop down menu under Tools but today I have learned so much more about using Google Drive and Google docs that will change the way that I teach. I have never thought of inserting an image by creating an image with the camera!!! Amazing! To all the tech savvy people out there, I only wish I had discovered this years ago! I was so inspired, I created my poster about my new knowledge in digital technology!
Hi Shelly
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for having me at your place today. I really appreciate reading this post and finding out what resonated with you today.
I do agree there is so much in Google Docs that is under utilised and will be fun to share with your learners.
I look forward to our journey together

Kia ora Shelly,
ReplyDeleteIt really is quite amazing how little we know about the additional functions of the Google suite. I remember feeling exactly the same during my first DFI session!!!
Super Awesome!!!
I'm sure you are going to throughly enjoy everything to come :-)
Hello Shelly,
ReplyDeleteI am now thinking about my old PDF files that are on my drive and wondering what you will do with your 'converter of PDF' that you have on your teacher tools?
Hi Shelly
ReplyDeleteYes, I had the same feeling too. I have been amazed by what I have learnt since I started Digital Fluency Intensive. I just need to implement it into my teaching. It will be very interesting to know how it goes when implementing it in your teaching.
Hi Shelly, My name is Penny and I have been completing the Manaiakalani Digital Intensive course in Auckland. It was great to read about your learning reflection. You are absolutely right, there is such a lot to explore in Google Docs. This theme continues throughout all of the DFI course with Google Maps and Google Sites. Enjoy the DFI course.
ReplyDeletePenny
